Giving Tuesday

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 29, Word Rebel is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving.
Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday.  Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours, and activities that bring about real change in communities.  We invite you to join the movement.  Some ideas to get involved:
  1. Encourage your workplace to officially sign up as partners (http://www.givingtuesday.org) and to organize a campaign to promote a charity that is meaningful to them.
  2. Forward this email to spread the word about #GivingTuesday.
  3. Use the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #Unselfie to share the charities you support.
  4. Make a tax-deductible year end gift to charity. Visit http://www.wordrebel.org to learn more about how 100% of your donation makes a difference.
Join us on #GivingTuesday to ensure all children start preschool with an equal opportunity to succeed. Every $3 donation provides 1 book and ongoing literacy instruction to a child in need.
Donate on November 29th and 50% of your donation will be matched:
Tomorrow only, every $30 donation gives 15 books:

Word Rebel is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) charity. 100% of your tax-deductible donation is used to purchase books for children living in poverty in New York City.
OUR PHILOSOPHY: Word Rebel programs address one simple reality: The most accurate predictor of whether or not a child will graduate from high school is the number of words they know when they start preschool. This is true regardless of parent income, parent education, environmental factors or access to quality schools. We empower parents, with limited time and resources, to prevent the preschool vocabulary gap – to close the achievement gap before it starts.
