Weekly Update

The mission of our East Harlem partner, Boys & Girls Harbor, is to empower children to see a future for themselves they never imagined by exposing them to experiences that help them discover their full potential. Over 70 parents of children at the Boys & Girls Harbor Day Care have received award-winning books to build their home libraries. Now, they receive weekly eBooks and strategies to build their child’s vocabulary and reading skills. We are grateful to support Boys & Girls Harbor’s mission  by ensuring children start preschool with the literacy skills they need to succeed.
Shout out to our President, Caitlin Motherway for hosting WordRebel‘s November 2nd fundraiser. Thanks to the generosity of event guests, we were able to raise nearly $1,000 to donate high-quality books to over 300 children living in poverty in New York City; Every single hard cover book is donated alongside a year of literacy resources and instruction. Every week, parents receive 3 eBooks and 3 strategies to teach literacy skills during daily routines. Because of supporters like you, over 300 children will begin preschool with the reading skills they need to reach their full potential. Thank you for making story-time and equal opportunity possible.
