What is your favorite children’s book?

dreamsWe are excited that our picture books will be in the hands of the kids we serve just in time for Picture Book Month – November! We have loved choosing which picture books children receive. Our goal is to choose books that will remain cherished for a lifetime, to be read again and again and again. While I have my own story-time memories and favorite books (like Dallas Clayton‘s Awesome Book above), I want to hear from you! What picture book did you read hundreds of times? Which books brought you hope, joy, comfort, delight, or a change of perspective? Share it with us and we will be sure to include it in our next weekly email to parents…and maybe in a book delivery in 2016!

70% of kids say they want books that “make me laugh.” While around 50% of kids want books that “let me use my imagination”, “have characters I wish I could be like because they’re smart, strong or brave”, or “teach me something new”.

BLOVIATE: To speak pompously or in an overbearing way.

“Above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you, because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.” Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

“You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always love you. That’s where I’ll be waiting.” J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

“If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” Roald Dahl, Matilda

In an ongoing effort to provide the best possible e-books to parents, we are very excited to add BookBox and Children’s Books Forever to our list of partners. BookBox has over 100,000 followers on their youtube channel which offers guided read aloud videos (with subtitles) perfect for children to follow along and for our parents who speak English as a second language! Children’s Book Forever is run by the award-winning author, Hans Wilhelm, who has published over 200 books in 20+ languages, and now offers several for free! We are so thankful for the opportunity to deliver these e-books straight to parent emails every single week.
